Growing herbs in pots is so much fun and makes a wonderful garden on the patio, on the front porch and in the home. Special containers can be anything that suits your fancy, bags, pots, window boxes, a leaky watering can and even an old wheel barrel.Hanging planters are so very popular as they add dimension to your garden. They do not take up walking space and you can hang them from fences to eves.

Hanging pouches as an herb garden are so convenient. You hang the pouch and plant your herbs in the sleeves or pouches near the bottom of the container. Fill the pouch with moist potting soil and then push the seed or plant into each of the sleeves. Arrange them for ascetics and water from the top. As the plant mature, they cover the sleeves.

Window boxes are great for herbs and growing them in a window or on a handrail does not take up much space. So if you are starting an herb garden and do not have much space, why not try window boxes.Look around the house, there are plenty of containers that will be great for growing herb in these makeshift pots. Use an old soup bowl, or that old gelatin mold or even the angel food cake pan. My favorite is a wheel barrel that is past it age. Wheel barrels are prefect for starting the seeds, as I can move it to the sunny spots in the very early spring. Burlap put in a container like a plastic file cabinet box is great for growing herbs in this pot.
